What is PU Leather?
( 1 ) Artificial leather material made with split leather (that's the fibrous part of the hide left over from making genuine leather) which has been coated with polyurethane (hence the name “PU”), ( 2 ) Genuine leather is very durable and can last between 10 to 20 years if properly maintained. In contrast, PU leather may begin to crack and crease in a 3-5 years giving you an aged look. Genuine leather is difficult to tear or puncture, and it is also much more breathable than most artificial leather. ( 3 ) PU Leather is not water proof, it is Water Resistant due to the top Polyurethane coating, it is basically done on Cow and Buff Splits to make cheaper version of the Grain Leather, it cannot be polished, It can easily be cleaned with a damp cloth.
